Birsa Divyang Samiti was established on December 13, 2019, and is registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1982. It is a grassroots organization dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities and other marginalized communities across Jharkhand. The organization focuses on inclusion, livelihood development, and improving access to rights and essential services. Our approach is community-based and inclusive, ensuring that no one is left behind. We collaborate with local communities to raise awareness, build capacities, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities. Transparency, respect, and Empowerment is at the core of our values. Through our initiatives, we aim to create an environment where persons with disabilities can lead independent and fulfilling lives. Beyond Dumka district, our work extends to all districts of the Santhal Pargana division, where we strive to integrate persons with disabilities into the mainstream of society. Currently, the committee is conducting door-to-door visits across all panchayats and villages in the Kathikund block of Dumka district to assist in resolving the issues faced by persons with disabilities; additionally, they help those who have not yet received the benefits of government schemes—for whatever reason—to access them.
